It was with great sadness for the agency to learn that Marilyn Allen passed away the morning of Saturday, March 9, 2019.  She was an excellent friend, colleague and leader at Fort Worth Housing Solutions.  Marilyn began her career at FWHS as Director of Human Resources in January 2013 and was later promoted to Vice President.  The funeral for Marilyn Allen will be held Friday, March 15 at 11 a.m. at Friendship Community Bible Church in Sugarland, Texas.

Marilyn D. Allen, Vice President of Human Resources, is no stranger to her profession. Bringing over 27 years of directly related experience to Fort Worth Housing Solutions (FWHS), Marilyn has served as the Human Resources Director for large, multi-level, highly diversified public housing agencies, including Houston, New Orleans, and Baltimore.  While generally promoting and implementing human resource values, through planning and managing programs and directing staff, she currently leads a team which provides all aspects of human resources. These include onboarding, employee/organizational development, training and succession planning. Ms. Allen is a big believer in connecting the passion of those who work for FWHS with opportunities for growth by supporting employee enrichment and development.

As a qualified Professional in Human Resources, with a Bachelor degree in Business Administration and a Certified HR Project Manager, Ms. Allen aids in developing organizational strategies by identifying and researching challenges then contributes information, analysis, and recommendations to the organization’s strategic thinking and direction.
