President’s Letter

“The only thing constant is change.”  I don’t know who said that, but I couldn’t agree more. Texas weather changes at the drop of a hat. HUD changes regulations just when we start to understand and implement them.

The City of Fort Worth is changing and so are we. At Fort Worth Housing Solutions, we pride ourselves on being creative and collaborative, using finite resources to assist as many people as we can.  I’ve challenged my staff to find efficiencies that will allow us to provide excellent customer service and do even more for our clients and community.

Twenty years ago we set out to change the face of public housing and we still strive to do that every day. Today, residents at our two public housing properties, Butler and Cavile Place, are relocating to high-opportunity neighborhoods across the city.  While Butler and Cavile have served a noble purpose for decades, it is time for each site to have rebirth.  I am truly excited to be a part of these exciting projects.

“It is not the strongest or the most intelligent who will survive but those who can best manage change.” — Charles Darwin
